Walkers and Cyclists Welcome

Here at Plas Celyn, in the heart of Snowdonia, walkers and cyclists have always been very welcome and we hope everyone staying has had everything they need catered for and more.

Recently Visit Wales who have just awarded us our 4 Star rating for a third successive year, introduced a scheme to encourage more walkers and cyclists to Wales,

and although I’m not sure Snowdon’s summit could take many more walkers on some days, we have signed up to participate in the scheme and Plas Celyn is now approved as being committed to catering for the needs of cyclists and walkers. This means that on top of  excellent bed and breakfast we can offer the following specific services:

Facilities and Services
• A separate space is available for drying outdoor clothing and footwear, so clothes
can dry overnight, we also can provide electric boot dryers
• Lockable undercover area for safe overnight storage of bicycles and panniers, with an
unobstructed entrance.
• A water point for washing bicycles and outdoor clothing.
• Emergency cycle & puncture repair kit.
• Local bike shop opening hours and info
• Good range of walking guides and plenty of maps for the use of guests
• Laundry service available on request
• Good range of walking guides and plenty of maps for the use of guests

Food Arrangements
• Hot and cold drink making equipment
• Early breakfast available on request
• Packed lunches available on request – please arrange in advance.
• Flask filling service available (free service) with tea, coffee or chocolate.

The village a whole is trying to get Cyclist and Walkers Welcome status and membership of the scheme should encourage more walkers and cyclists to visit.  Some participants might have a rough and tough approach to their sports, but I’m still sure a comfortable bed and hearty breakfast, are what everyone needs at the end of a great day in Snowdonia.
