Summer at Plas Celyn

June whizzed by with hardly any rain and some really lovely weather that saw us busy, but still with enough time to get out on our Kayaks exploring the Great Orme at LLandudno and paddling across from Pwllheli to Llanbedrog on the Llyn peninsular.

Kayak on the Conwy EstuaryJuly has had a promising start, and with the met office predicting a dry and warm spell, we are looking forward to the rest of the month.

Visit Wales hotel inspectors have been around for their assessment and we have been awarded our 4 star rating once again.

We are currently painting the outside of the property and giving Plas Celyn a fresh new look which we will have pictures of very soon.

Trefriw is about to get another restaurant, Chandlers. Guests will be pleased to know that it is yet another place to eat within a short stroll of Plas Celyn.

Further afield Zip Wire have opened another two attractions at Llechwedd slate quarry in Blaenau Ffestiniog. The new Zipworld Titan, and an underground experience Bounce Below.

With Rib Ride a huge success and work begun at Surf Snowdonia, the Conwy Valley is definitely becoming the centre of a new kind of adrenaline adventure here in North Wales. I hope we don’t forget that Snowdonia is still a very tranquil and wild place, if you avoid Snowdon’s summit, and that there is a huge expanse of rugged beauty for traditional and new activities to exist side by side, and help North Wales be the top adventure destination.
