Plas Celyn is over 150 years old and has been recently refurbished. Whilst we aim to meet
the needs of all our guests, there are some features of the house which might make access
difficult for people with limited mobility.
We are located on the B5106, in the village of Trefriw, situated in the Conwy valley. There
are village amenities (shops, pubs, cafes) and we are 2 miles from the market town of
Llanrwst. For full details of how to reach us, see our maps and directions.
Llanrwst North railway station, with connections to mainline services at Llandudno Junction, is 2.5 miles by vehicle, and accessible on foot using a footbridge over the river. The journey by foot is 1 mile.
There are taxis available and there is a regular bus service. Llew Jones bus no. 19 between
Llanrwst/Betws-Y-Coed and Llandudno stops at the Trefriw Woollen Mill, just 150 metres from Plas Celyn.

The village has a cafe (serving breakfast, lunches and afternoon teas, and
selling filled rolls/sandwiches and drinks), a butcher/grocer and a Post Office. There is also a large tea room at the Woollen Mill with an extensive gift shop. There are two pubs, the Fairy Falls and the Old Ship (Hen Long) – both serve meals, and Chandlers Brasserie. All of these are within close, mostly level, walking distance. Pavements are intermittent in the village, so care should be taken when walking. There is a hotel, The Princes Arms, somewhat further away, at the far end of the village, which has a Bistro restaurant (Booking required) Many more eating establishments are available in Llanrwst and Betws-Y-Coed nearby.
